Tanisha Katara is an independent blockchain consultant and award-winning researcher who explores the science of governance, web3 reputation, decision-making and decentralization.
Tanisha plays a dual role. As an independent consultant, she has worked with 6+ clients in the last 1.5 years, all acquired through word-of-mouth. 100% of her clients have extended their original work contract durations, expanding the scope of her projects. She has a diverse client base, from DAO tooling applications to Protocols and Data Availability to Governments. She assists her clients with designing reputation models, governance, crypto economics, special programs & products, and their go-to-market strategies. She believes that working across a broad range of projects helps her think more holistically, considering all factors from token price to user experience.
As the Governance Innovation Specialist at Polygon Technology, she helps design decentralized and secure governance systems by engaging in projects such as the governance hub, defining the parameters for system smart contracts governance, validator admission & reputation, and loves to research value accrual mechanisms in consensus and code.
She has co-authored a first-of-its-kind research study on blockchain voting with Wenxuan Deng, David Hamoui and Mateusz Rzeszowski.
Tanisha was profiled in the Blockchain Life edition as one of the featured speakers, and her interview on the intersection of AI and Blockchain was covered by Daily AI. Even while being home-bound in Vijayawada due to a personal family situation, she virtually delivered talks at ETH Tallinn and Dev3Conference which gained traction, and led her to present her work in Paris and Dubai.
Tanisha is a merit scholar and Young India Fellow from Ashoka University, where she studied Liberal Arts. She earned her under graduation in Commerce (Honors) from K L University, with a summa cum laude and President’s gold medalist. In her early-20s, she also represented India in UNLEASH 2019, China to work on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
She thoroughly enjoys her underwater dives and her treks to the top of the mountain. In an alternate universe, she’s playing with her favourite elephant Mona and continues teaching life skills in local schools.
